What does this plugin do?

WPtouch Pro is a WordPress plugin for self-hosted WordPress websites that shows a powerful, well-designed mobile theme version of your site when visitors are using popular touch mobile devices like the iPhone/iPod touch, Google Android phones, Palm Pre/Pixi, Samsung bada and Blackberry Storm & Torch devices.

And now with WPtouch Pro version 2.1, we’ve added awesome iPad/Kindle theme support, too.

WPtouch Pro works by automatically detecting these devices and serves its mobile/tablet-friendly themes. Desktop visitors still see your regular theme, and changes to it do not affect WPtouch Pro and vice-versa.

You configure lots of different things about what your mobile theme looks like and how it works in the WPtouch Pro plugin administration panel.

So what’s different about WPtouch Pro vs. The free 1.9 version?

Well that’s a can of worms! Actually, everything is, really.

We’ve re-written the plugin top to bottom, with the goal of building a strong foundation and platform for many great features. Web-app mode, support for themes and custom themes, a powerful brand new admin panel, full internationalization, and more powerful discussion and menu features are some of the major differences. More of what you get that’s new with 2.0 Pro can be found in the Compare & Pricing section.

What’s Different about WPtouch Pro from other similar plugins and solutions?

WPtouch Pro is the culmination of thousands of hours of work and dedication. Our attention to detail and polish on all aspects of the product make WPtouch Pro truly stand out.

With WPtouch Pro you don’t have to sacrifice on WordPress functionality: things like complex menus, social sharing, photos, audio and video, commenting, search, archives and more— are all available with WPtouch Pro to your mobile visitors and work great.

And while WPtouch Pro does all these things, it loads fast and has been optimized heavily for mobile devices, making sure that your rich content is served quickly, whether a visitor is on EDGE, 3G or 4G networks, or on a WiFi connection.

Can I remove the “Powered by WPtouch” line in the footer?

Yes, in the Pro version you can control branding and setup options not available in the free version.

Will it work with my desktop theme, or other plugins I have?

There is such a large variety of WordPress plugins that it’s simply not possible for us to test WPtouch Pro with every single one. That said, WPtouch Pro includes a powerful feature in it where it can disable plugins individually just while WPtouch Pro is active.

Many people use this feature to disable troublesome plugins that aren’t compatible with WPtouch Pro. The majority of other plugins do work fine without any intervention. In the event you encounter an issue and can’t seem to disable the plugin via WPtouch Pro, our support team will be happy to try and help you resolve the issue and find a work around.

If I purchase a single license or the 5-pack, is it possible to upgrade to a different license at a future date?

Yes, absolutely! Once you purchase a product you’ll be given upgrade pricing on the WPtouch Pro page, which is simply the difference in cost between the higher license and the one you own. For example, if you purchased the single license at $49, you’ll have an option of upgrading to the 5-pack license for $50 more (for a total cost of $99, which is the original cost of the 5-pack).

What Devices Are Supported?

Currently the Apple iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, Google Android mobile devices, Blackberry OS6 devices like the Torch and new Bold, most Samsung touch devices, and Palm Pre/Pixi. The vast majority of smartphone web-browsing traffic will see your WPtouch Pro theme.

Will You Add Support For New Devices?

Absolutely! When it first began, WPtouch only worked on iPhone. We continue to grow the plugin and its device support.

What do I get with my WPtouch Pro license?

WPtouch Pro represents over 1000 hours of work by BraveNewCode. We wanted to make sure WPtouch remains the best mobile plugin for WordPress, and have lots of plans to add some very cool things down the road. There is simply no way we could accomplish this without paid compensation for the time we put into the project.

We know that users want great support when they need it. Every license includes timely, helpful support from our support staff, and free upgrades through all major version releases, for example if you purchased at 2.1 you’ll get upgrades all the way to 2.9.

So when you buy WPtouch Pro you’re getting a great plugin today, but also supporting its advancement into something even more powerful you’ll enjoy tomorrow. And you’re helping us feed ourselves, so thanks for dinner!

Why can’t I find WPtouch Pro in the WordPress plugin repository?

WPtouch Pro is an entirely new plugin based on the same ‘ideas’ that WPtouch 1.x was built from.

Because we are charging a fee for upgrades and support, we did not want to release this version into the repository and confuse people when they upgraded. Though WPtouch Pro is GPL and complies with WordPress’ requirements for plugins, we don’t want to frustrate WPtouch 1.x users with a release that required them to pay to have more updates going forward.

What is your refund/warranty policy?

Warranty
WPtouch Pro cannot be warrantied because of the nature of web environments and WordPress configurations. WordPress itself is not warranted by Automattic, as with almost 98% of all open-source, GPL projects.

Refunds
If you’re not happy for any reason with WPtouch Pro you can contact us within 7 days of purchase and request a refund. We’ll refund you in full. All we ask is that you allow our support team to try and solve an issue if that’s the reason for your request. We want happy customers!
