We just pushed out a WordTwit upgrade to 2.4. There are two major changes in this release.

    1) Asynchronous Tweets - if a Tweet fails, it will be pushed out at a later time asynchronously
    2) Updated to OAuth mechanism. Twitter is getting rid of their old plaintext password API in June, so this release is meant to address that. Everyone will have to authorize against their Twitter account, but in theory the OAuth mechanism is more secure.

If anyone has any problems, drop a comment here.

  2. Hello,

I just upgraded to 2.4, after I click "Allow" in the twitter app, I get a blank page and nothing happens.

I've been using wordtwit for months I love it! I hope you can fix this soon.

    Thanks in advance

Can you post the URL that you end up on after you click Allow?

Can you possibly provide me with admin access and ftp access to the WordTwit directory? I can try and debug on your server. If so let me know and I'll send you my email.

  5. I found out the problem, I had to disable Simple Twitter Connect

    STC

I enabled STC again and both plugins seem to be working together again :)

Hello guys..thanx for the great work

I got an error after upgrading to wordtwit 2.4..all files are installed correctly
the plugin wont activate anymore and wordpress gives the following message:
Warning: require_once(include/oauth.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/******/Blog/wp-content/plugins/wordtwit/wordtwit.php on line 41

I have checked the files and all are there...any ideas on how to solve this?

fixed it by deleting all files from the previous version and reuploading the 2.4 release

    Hello.
I updated the WordTwit-plugin, but now I can't see the view of all plugins.
When I delete the folder "wordtwit" via ftp, everything is fine again.
When I disactivate the plugin "Twitter Widget Pro", I can activate "WordTwit".
But both activated at the same time is not possible.
What do I have to do?

  9. WordTwit seems to have problems with the Urchin Tracking Module (UTM) in which it truncates parameters from links. We use (for our Android-website Android Planet @ androidplanet.nl) the local option with our own short url android.to.

If you take a look at these tweets the utm parameters are truncated:

I can't seem to find where and how the truncation is happening. Any info on how to solve this is highly appreciated. I noticed it's doing the same for other publishers who use utm_tracking with WordTwit.

  10. Hi guys,

I know you're super busy with WPtouch Pro, but could you please provide a pointer where in the code I can fix this myself?

Hey, apologies- overlooked this one. I'll pass the info on to Duane and hopefully he can figure out what's happening there.

  12. Thanks Dale!

Can you look in the database and see if they are truncated there? I'm assuming you're using WordTwit's URL shortener? Check the wp_tweet_urls table.
