The plugin works great and comes up on my phone and I've uploaded my own icon. But when I go to my site on my phone and use the option to create an icon on my launch screen, what it does is create an icon of an image of my page and you can just make out my custom icon in a corner of the image but really tiny.
So to sum it up, my phone creates an icon of my icon (an image of an icon inside of a regular sized icon)
