Start Your Updaters: WPtouch Pro 2.6 Now Available!

Today we’ve released WPtouch Pro 2.6, the latest maintenance, bug, and feature-addition release for our flagship premium WordPress plugin.

The release focuses on some key areas, namely: Embedded videos & maps, enhanced and expanded custom-post types support, and a fix for a rare settings bug that caused settings to be reset unexpectedly in some situations.

The 2.6 update is a free update for all existing WPtouch Pro customers.
Below is the complete changelog for the release.

  • Added: Custom advertising options for iPad
  • Added: Simple caching of desktop functions.php
  • Added: Russian language file
  • Added: Automatic archiving of previous settings in wptouch-data directory
  • Added: Compatibility setting for BuddyPress Mobile AJAX support
  • Fixed: Changing user-agent matching that may have interfered with advertising in certain scenarios
  • Changed: Replaced include with locate_template in theme files, should allow child overrides of custom WPtouch Pro template files
  • Changed: Algorithm to reload settings; may have caused settings to be lost in a certain scenario
  • Updated: All translations based on 2.6 strings
  • Fixed: An issue with Register and Lost password links in Classic
  • Fixed: Video issues with jwPlayer and other video sources and plugins
  • Fixed: An issue which could cause the Share button not to show in Classic mobile theme
  • Fixed: Improved appearance for Embedded Google maps
  • Fixed: Issues with Tweet text encoding in sharing options for Classic
  • Fixed: Search form issues with Skeleton theme
  • Fixed: Admin issues for non-English languages
  • Fixed: Issue where style.min.css was never loaded in child themes of Classic
  • Fixed: Broken admin icons when SSL was enabled in the admin

    Hi. Exactly what does “Compatibility setting for BuddyPress Mobile AJAX support” mean? Does it mean WPtouch is now fully Buddypress compatible?

      Hi Richard,

      There was a small issue where “Activity Updates” were not automatically posted in the BuddyPress Activity page while BuddyPress-Mobile and WPtouch Pro were active. The issue is resolved in 2.6. Proper support for BuddyPress is on-going.

    Yeah, I wondered about compatibility for Buddypress. It seems not working unless it required to use BP Default theme instead different themes that supported BP. Let us know!

    Does it mean its Buddypress compatible or at least compatible with the Buddypress Mobile plugin? I need to know, because I’ve hesitated buying the Pro version as I run a Buddypress site. Thanks!

      Yes you’ll be able to use WPtouch Pro in combination with BuddyPress-Mobile. That’s exactly where there were improvements in this update.

    There are a bug on YouTube embed code and video doesn’t appear correct. It’s show only a “line”. Check it;)

    Can you describe the custom-post-type features a little more? I assume WPtouch Pro can show custom-type archives like it shows post archives, but it’s hard to tell. (http://www.BraveNewCode.com/store/plugins/WPtouch-pro/#7)

    How do I upgrade from 2.4.1 to 2.6.3? I see “upgrade available”. I’ve gone to the plug-ins page but don’t see any upgrade options, even the automatic version. I’ve refreshed several times. Any thoughts?
