The cost sounds reasonable, I was concerned about the price at first when you guys announced but after receiving the final word I am happy to purchase it.

At $29 – this quality plug is very fair – and all the other plans provide even greater value. I don’t think it is accurate to compare to the price of other plugins – how about comparing to other options in mobilizing a web site? Look at: http://www.mofuse.com/plans/ – they charge a monthly basic fee of $39. That is every month. For $29 you get a mobile site without those monthly fees. Plus, a lot of folks will be making money building mobile web sites with WPtouch – shouldn’t BNC benefit from that? I think so.

Out of the box, no. But it’s very easy to add iPad support, and we’ll help anyone who’d like to do that.

As we improve and add more to WPtouch Pro, iPad solutions will be a part of the picture.

Well, we knew not everyone would be happy about it. That said, it’s totally misleading to assume you can just do math like “if you sell X at Y price, you’ll make Z”. Free downloads are one thing, but the minute you put a price on something people have to decide whether they feel it’s worth it, compare it with other options, etc. Determining how many people will buy it at different price points requires market study and research, and we certainly don’t have the time and money for that sort of thing.

Nor would we, even if we could— we believe the only thing that matters is that it’s great. And we’ve invested into it almost every last penny of the company’s reserve because we believe that it is.

Most premium themes cost more than $29, and so do most premium plugins. Gravity Forms is $39, yearly. Other paid mobile theme/site options all cost more, and arguably you get less. If you compare WPtouch Pro’s price out there, it’s less. In most cases, far less.

In the end people will learn about the new features in 2.0 Pro and if they decide it’s worth it, they’ll buy it. If they decide it’s not, they won’t.

We’re confident those who do pay for WPtouch Pro will feel they get more than their money’s worth.

It’s actually easier than ever to modify themes with 2.0. And, as paid customer, you can always make requests for options, features, etc.

I’d buy it but it is hard for me to remove things like date, written by, and other thing that make it look like a blog, I like to use this plugin for sites, not blogs and the original WPtouch makes it easy to remove those things.

I agree with Kiro. You guys are making (and made) a great work, but 29$ is definitely too expensive. Maybe for that amount I would buy a WordPress professional theme, but I wouldn’t buy a mobile theme.

Anyway, I think Kiro is right: almost any blog uses WordPress, and iPhone is now very popular; if you make your price lower, like 5$ or even 2$, I’m sure every blogger would buy it, and you would sell many more licences.

Yes I hunderstand, but your plug-in has been used thousands of times, and so. If your price is 29 $ you can sell how many license? 1.000? If your price is 4,99 $ you can sell 10.000 license.

So 29 x 1000 = 29.000
4,99 x 10.000 = 49.900

and so on.

@Kiro – We recognize that not everyone wants a premium plugin with paid support. That’s why the 1.9.x version will continue to be in the WordPress repository for people that want it. We’ve spent at least three solid months making WPtouch 2.0, and it comes with several mobile themes, documentation, pro support, and lots of other features (if you look on the pricing grid on the WPtouch Pro page, you’ll see just how many features are in it). We also spent money getting WPtouch 2.0 professionally translated into several languages, including Italian, Japanese, Spanish, French and German. We think it’s a great product and that it’s priced fairly. But for those people who don’t wish to spend the money, the 1.9.x version will continue to be available in the WordPress repository.

The price sounds very fair, I was a little worried at first when you guys first announced that it’s going to a $ supported platform but after getting the final word I’ll be more the. Happy to buy it once it is released.
