Support Forums Outage

The support forums will be down as of 12:01am EST on Thursday, November 19th, 2009. We’re upgrading and changing our support forums and service, and as a result will close the forums until the new ones are launched.

We apologize for this, but there’s no way we can continue to answer all questions while re-launching.

Rest assured we’re hoping to make many improvements, so when things are up and running again they should be much better: )

Thanks,

The BraveNewCode Team

    Hi

I love the WPtouch theme so much, but would like to use this on my WP server status page, as the full site theme, is this possible, do you have a full site version?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi there,

WPtouch is the best WP plugin for sites dedicated to cell phones and works like a charm.
But there is one little thing I don’t like (a mini feature request ;-) ): floating inline images are always aligned inline with the text. They don’t float as they do in the normal version. Have a look at: http://www.mobilegridclient.com/how-to-use-it/

Thank you for this great plugin,
    Kurt

@Grahama: No, we don’t (and won’t) support or recommend using this theme on the desktop.

@Kurt: We’ll be adding some more custom filters for posts in the next version which will strip inline styles from images so that can make them look a lot better.

why turn off a working forum. just leave it up until the new one is ready to go? seems simple enough. you don’t have to answer questions just make it READ ONLY!!!

Going through the forums and closing all the topics would be an option, but I think many users, especially new ones would be confused as to why they couldn’t file a response or new topic.

It’s not permanent- just temporary. It’s maybe not ideal or preferred, but this is the way we’ve chosen to handle the significant changes we’re making to the forums, our website, the plugins, etc.

  6. I’ve just installed WPtouch and love it. It solved an issue that another mobile plugin had where images were getting cropped. However, we still have a problem where text can’t be resized on iPhones. Any idea why this is? Is there a solution?

Hi, no forums and I *am* one of those new users you’re referring too. I’ll keep this crazy short…

    WP 2.8.4 + WPtouch 1.9 = Awesome

    …but…

    WP 2.8.6 + WPtouch 1.9.5 = doesn’t load style sheet

…here’s what the mess looks like (localhost development so no link to actual site):

Anyone seen this? I screw up somehow? It’s been like this since I upgraded to 1.9.5 and I have manually deleted the files and replaced them a few times to be sure.

I’m trying to WPtouch working on an internal site, but get a 404 error when accessing the home page. I even tried creating a new page and setting that as the home page in the settings, but I still have the same problem. All the other pages work fine.

Also, I can’t get the Category and Tags menu items to disappear – even though I’ve unchecked them in the settings. Any advice?

Hi all, we’re not fielding support requests at this time…

That said, first thing to try is deleting and re-installing the plugin, then resetting the admin settings if need be. Sometimes the WordPress install partially fails it seems. Rare, but it happens.

how do you disable specific plugins when using just the WPtouch theme? how do you specifically deal with compatibility with the wp-follow me plugin, another popular wp plugin?

Unfortunately there’s no way for any plugin to decide what other plugins can do or not do. Hooks happen without being able to intercept them. We try to add support for popular WordPress plugins or modify them for support with WPtouch. We work on that progressively.

With the 2.0 release and support for different themes, we hope that both with our themes and those that others can create that these kinds of issues cease to exist.
