WPtouch 1.9 Video Preview: New Header

We’ve recorded a quick screencast showing some of the new features within the new WPtouch header. The new header offers the ability to show categories, tags & account options using the iPhone & iPod touch’s native select scroller, and also sports a new look for the search and page menu drop down.

    Love the new header! Bravo.

    One concern about the “Login” though. I encourage folks to use RPX logins (Google, Facebook, OpenID, etc.) so that they don’t have to create an account on my site. I’d love it if WPtouch could be sensitive to the presence of RPX and expand that beautiful login panel a bit to include the third party login logos (and links) as appropriate.

    I know that’s probably too much to ask for, my workaround is to not include login on the header. It would be nice to have a fallback, allowing login on the header, but using the standard WP login screen (from which RPX works fine) as an alternative to the whiz-bang new panel.

    Again, wonderful work. Bravo!

    Yes, the community for these types of logins is growing. We’ll think about how best to implement RPX.
