I used to be able to trick 300-baud modems into thinking I was a modem too by whistling at the exact right tone. Of course, they couldn’t get any data out of me, but they did try to handshake with me. :)
I ran a four-line BBS with one of those pictured in the link!
:) I miss those days. Why aren’t there Telnet’able BBSes?!
